GYG to open new restaurant in Southport Village

It will offer $5 burritos and bowls on the opening day.

Guzman y Gomez announced the opening of its new restaurant in Southport Village on 6 October.

Similar to its previous openings, they will serve free coffee and $5 burritos and bowls during the grand opening.

This GYG Southport Village restaurant will also be a drive-thru location.

Local franchisee Tom Graham will take over the new restaurant, which will be his seventh GYG restaurant.

Graham is overseeing GYG operations in Burleigh Heads, Robina, Griffith University, Harbour Town, Nerang, and Surfers Paradise. In 2015, Graham opened his first drive-thru location at Nerang.

Graham said they hired 80 local crew for their Southport store, adding that they are also looking to employ people in the business.
