Donut King opens first drive-thru outlet
Deagon, Queensland will be the new store’s location.
Donut King has today announced the opening of its first drive-thru store in the Queensland town of Deagon. In a series of firsts, the store will also be the chain’s first to open as a stand-alone outlet, a departure from the traditional kiosk style outlet previously preferred by the coffee and snack vendor.
Donut King are hoping the move will mark the evolution of the brand from an impulse driven outlet to a dine in or drive thru coffee and treat destination.
As Managing Director Nicholas Brill notes ‘'Donut King’s point of difference to other coffee drive thru outlets is our extensive donut, savoury and cold beverage lines as well as the level of customisation we offer our customers to create their ideal hot dog, donut or cold drink”.
They hope the store layout will also mark them out as different, with a children’s playground, astro turf on the ceiling and a ‘dk:id’ station where customers are able to customise their donut, cold drink and yoghurt orders.
