The milestone store is located in Bradbury, NSW.
Domino’s is now operating 17,000 stores worldwide, the company announced.
The commemorative store is located in Bradbury, New South Wales, which served up free pizzas to carryout customers.
17 pizza boxes that were handed out featured a hidden “Golden Slice” worth $1,000 in cash.
The opening was marked by a special visit and ribbon-cutting ceremony by Domino’s executives from the USA and Australia.
“Domino’s opened its first international store in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1983. We’ve come a long way since then, and I’m incredibly proud to celebrate the opening of our 17,000th store in the world,” Domino’s CEO Ritch Allison said. “This achievement is a true testament to how hard Domino’s has worked and truly is a reflection of the success of our global brand.”
Don Meij, CEO and managing Director of ASX-listed Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd, added: “This is an incredible milestone for the Domino’s brand, and we’re honoured that it is happening in Australia.”
Domino’s first store in Australia opened in 1983. Since then, the chain has grown to 700 stores across the country.
