Ali Baba disappointed over ex-franchisee flouting workplace law

The latter was slapped with fines for a number of breaches.

In a statement Ali Baba said:

Ali Baba was disappointed to learn that one of its former franchisees was yesterday fined for a number of breaches of workplace law under the Fair Work Act.

All employment agreements at store level are between the franchise partner and their staff; however as a leading Australian brand we are committed to ensuring we direct our franchise partners to meet all the necessary regulatory and legislative requirements.

We accept the ruling made by the Fair Work and continue to enjoy a good working relationship with them.
