Starbucks reopens Melbourne Central with art-forward makeover
The outlet now features a double-wall mural by RMIT artist Ananya Ojha.
Starbucks Australia has reopened its renovated Melbourne Central café in the CBD.
Located on the corner of Swanston Street and La Trobe Street, the store now features a double-wall mural created by Ananya Ojha, an artist from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).
The updated café includes a reworked layout, additional seating, digital menu boards, and new lighting.
The interior has been redesigned with a muted colour scheme and custom fittings.
Ojha’s mural, which focuses on themes of community and connection, references the activity and movement of the surrounding area.
The collaboration is part of Starbucks’ international art programme, which commissions local artists to produce site-specific works for its stores.
Opening hours are 6:30 am to 9:30 pm Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 9:30 pm on Saturday, and 7:00 am to 9:00 pm on Sunday.
