Jamaica Blue wins big at Golden Bean Awards

Jamaica Blue wins big at Golden Bean Awards

Jamaica Blue has upstaged more than 60 competitor coffee-chains, winning Gold and Bronze medals in the 2011/12 CSR Sugar Golden Bean awards.

Beating the likes of McCafé and Gloria Jean’s Coffees, Jamaica Blue’s Signature Blend took the top-gong in the highly-competitive Coffee Chain Milk category.

Also recognised with a Bronze Medal in the Coffee Chain Espresso category, the prestigious CSR Golden Bean awards cap-off an exciting year for Jamaica Blue, which is in the midst of a brand reinvigoration.

Jamaica Blue recently commenced rolling-out an exotic new-look in its cafés which are designed to serve as an oasis for coffee-lovers who are looking to escape the grind of daily life by sitting-back, and savouring each sip of a premium-tasting coffee.

One of three trademarked Jamaica Blue coffees available in-store every day, the Golden Bean award-winning Signature Blend is made from 100% Arabica beans sourced from five of the world’s most renowned coffee regions in South America, Ethiopia and India, Brazil, East Timor and of course, the Caribbean.

Foodco Group Managing Director Serge Infanti said the CSR Golden Bean accolades are the upshot of an unrelenting commitment to quality by the Jamaica Blue team, particularly Foodco Master Roaster Fred Vains.

“For Jamaica Blue to win such high acclaim in the largest coffee roasting competition in the Southern Hemisphere is truly humbling but also fitting”.

“The Golden Bean awards are a testament to the hard work of the entire Jamaica Blue team, particularly our coffee guru Fred Vains, whose skill, expertise and commitment to quality has ensured Jamaica Blue’s reputation as the premier coffee chain in Australasia – and we now have the medals to prove it!” said Mr Infanti.

Also a dual-medal winner at this year’s CSR Golden Bean awards, Muffin Break was recognised with a Silver medal in the annual competition’s Coffee Chain Espresso category, and also took the Bronze medal in the Coffee Chain Milk category, won by Jamaica Blue.

Limited edition cups marking the Jamaica Blue Gold medal success in the 2011/12 CSR Golden Bean awards will be available in the New Year.
