QSR Media: What has drawn you to get involved in the multi-site restaurant industry?
Clements: Working at McDonald’s from a young age, I gained a lot of respect and passion for the multi-site restaurant industry. Then combining my Marketing degree with my love of food, I decided working in the food industry was the right step for me.
What are some of the industry issues you're thinking about at the moment? What are some developments you're seeing that the industry should take a closer look at?
Conscious indulgence is a key trend I’m focusing on - how can we feel better about the food we’re eating? Sustainability of our packaging and ingredients is also a key issue. Key developments in the plant-based sector are important to watch, along with the use of functional ingredients in our foods such as added protein or fibre.
What can we expect from your participation at the QSR Media Sandhurst Conference & Awards? What are some things you're excited to do there?
I want to share my knowledge and experience on product development at Krispy Kreme, and the wider consumer trends in the food and beverage industry. I’m excited to hear from all the amazing industry leaders on how they have grown their brands, ways they are keeping consumers engaged and how they are tackling sustainability and better-for-you product development.
