The worldwide disruption to supply chains has now been followed by a confluence of key developments in foodservice and current events that are adding inflationary shocks — raising further problems for restaurant brands in the foreseeable future.
Anecdotes on remaining resilient despite these factors and unpacking winning solutions were discussed during "Supply Chain Under Pressure: Key Developments, Navigating Disruptions", a webinar organised by QSR Media last April 4, in partnership with Fourth.
The special event kicked off with a 20-minute presentation from Euromonitor International senior consultant (Food & Nutrition) Emil Fazira, detailing the complexities that businesses need to consider, also observing that industries are striving for seamlessness via exploration of various business models that will have supply chain implications.
This was followed by a bespoke roster of panelists, which included Fazira, Subway ANZ operations director Chris Churchmichael, Baskin-Robbins Singapore and Malaysia chief executive Cheah Jia Ming, Fourth general manager for APAC Paul Tregoning and Newly Weds Foods Thailand commercial manager David Dawson — all of whom offered perspectives as various participants in the supply chain cycle.
