Guzman y Gomez unveils Chipotle Seasoned Fries
The Mexican food chain is launching Chipotle Seasoned Fries nationwide.
Served with the potato skin and served without batter, preservatives, or chemicals, the potatoes are washed, sliced and sent straight to stores. Then they’re tossed in a traditional Chipotle seasoning. Guests can add a side of GYG’s dipping sauces, which include Chipotle Mayo, Jalapeño Ketchup and Mex Chimmi Mayo (vegan).
“Our fries are made from real, quality ingredients and you won’t feel guilty after eating them as they don’t have any of the nasty stuff added to them like you might see in other fast food fries — they are whole potatoes, cooked in a canola oil blend and then seasoned to taste,” said Steven Marks, Founder and Managing Director of Guzman y Gomez.
“What’s even better is they taste pretty damn good. We’ve spent a long time making sure our fries are fit for Australia, going through over 30 iterations before this national launch.”
The potatoes are freshly harvested and hand-picked before being cleaned and cut into thick fries. They’re then snap-frozen and delivered straight to local GYG restaurants where they’re cooked in a high-oleic Canola oil blend and seasoned.
“The potato skin is an important part of a potato’s nutritional makeup. Many important nutrients like fibre are found in the skin so, when you strip that away, you’re taking away all of that goodness. And that’s just plain wrong!” Marks added.
