Below is a Q&A Fatima Syed, Pizza Hut Australia Head of Marketing.

QSR Media: What made the brand decide to offer free delivery for your online customers?

Syed: First and foremost, offering free delivery to our online customers is part of Pizza Hut’s ongoing commitment to innovation and competition. It also reflects the growing trend in online ordering which continues to grow and grow.

It marks a huge step in helping customers enjoy the best value, best tasting and above all most convenient pizza in the country. And we think it will appeal to anyone who wants value, convenience and taste. And they can now save $8 every time!

QSR Media: What else is the brand looking to develop for its digital platform?

Syed: The digital side of the business is a big focus for us and we’re continually looking at ways to innovate and evolve our offering in this area.

We have recently upgraded our iPhone app and launched a brand new Android and Windows 8 app. We will be looking at ways to improve our online offering in order to make it the preferred channel for ordering in the future.

QSR Media: How effective do you think this will be as a strategy to convert customers to digital?

Syed: Given Australia’s high smartphone and mobile device penetration, digital is key.

We think that our free online delivery offering will encourage people to utilise our digital channels and keep them coming back time and time again.
