Burger King removes soft drinks from its children's meals

Burger King is dropping soft drinks from the menu of its children's meals, according to a news report from SBS Online.

The announcement comes amid pressure from various organizations to reduce the amount of soft drinks that kids consume.

In a statement, the company said, "We have removed fountain drinks from our kids' menu boards and they are no longer merchandised as part of kids' meals."

Instead, Burger King stated that all its children's meals will come with either apple juice, fat-free milk or low-fat chocolate milk.

Other US fast-food chains like McDonald's and Wendy's have previously cut sugary drinks from their kids' meals.
