KFC QLD installs 43 new recycling bins
Over 170 bins have been installed across Australia.
In their commitment to promote environmental responsibility, KFC Australia has recently installed 43 new recycling systems in their stores in Queensland. This is part of their ‘Do the Right Thing, Use the Right Bin’ joint campaign with the Australian Packaging Covenant.
Jenny Pickles, General Manager of Australian Food and Grocery Council’s Packaging Stewardship Forum, shares, “The project is part of the state wide rollout of the Queensland Bin Network, an industry funded 5 year initiative to make it easy for consumers to recycle and reduce litter when they are away from home.”
This effort follows the successful rollout of over 170 new recycling systems in KFC’s stores across New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria. The new system provides an avenue to help divert thousands of tonnes of waste from landfill.
“We’re proud to be involved in this nationwide initiative to help educate our customers about recycling responsibly at KFC. We will be continuing to invest in environmental solutions at our restaurants, exploring further opportunities to operate sustainably, bringing more value to our customers,” said Martin Clarke, CEO of KFC at Collins Foods Limited.
