Cupcake Bakery liquidated
Rapid fall from grace for chain.
PCI Partners appointed liquidators.
The chain was founded by Alex and Angela Perry in 2006 and expanded rapidly along the east coast, with Alex Perry telling us in August that they had plans to have opened 35 stores by the end of last year.
However, it appears that all may not have been well for some time at the chain. We have exclusively talked to a creditor for the company who confirmed that they are owed a large amount of money, allegedly dating back nearly 12 months. The creditor, who has remained anonymous due to the sensitivity of the topic, has been trying to recoup the amount until now but Perry has apparently not been returning phone calls.
According to Other sources we have spoken to a group of franchisees has broken away and now exist under a new cupcake brand.
