Mrs. Fields wins after severing ties with Daily Roast

The company won an award for its coffee despite major changes like moving roasting in-house to its own facility in Sydney.

In 2011 Mrs. Fields broke its relationship with Melbourne-based Daily Roast but retained the consulting services of World Champion barista judge Justin Metcalf with the help of coffee roaster Leigh Collien and barista coach Yvette Schroeder.

The Mrs. Fields blend won a bronze medal in the Milk Based Coffee (franchise chain) category of the CSR Sugar Golden Bean roaster competition.

Andrew Benefield, Managing Director of Mrs. Fields Australia, said they are committed to providing the best coffee possible, noting coffee’s role as accompaniment to Mrs. Fields’ range of sweet treats.

Mrs. Fields also implemented more training for baristas in store like the Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee training programs.
