KFC's David Failla wins Australian Trainee of the Year
He is the Restaurant General Manager for KFC Villawood.
As Australian Trainee of the Year, he will support and assist the Australian Government throughout 2013 building the profile of traineeships and inspiring other trainees around the nation.
Failla won Trainee of the Year 2012 for the South Western Sydney Region as well as NSW Trainee of the Year 2012.
He started with Yum! Restaurants in 2005 at the age of 15 as a Team Member. Since then he has progressed up the ranks, becoming a Restaurant General Manager at age 22.
In his career Failla has been recognised as Team Member of the Year, Best Cook in the Area, and twice Assistant Restaurant Manager of the Year.
The Training Awards are conducted annually by the Australian Government (Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education) & Equivalent State Departments of Education, to recognise outstanding achievement in the vocational education and training sector.
The Awards honour and reward the achievements of students, trainers/teachers, training organisations, large and small employers. There are multiple categories such as individual, organisational, and ‘National Focus’.
