Learn more about Birdies Chicken & Burgers, the newest contender in the QSR scene
QSR Media got a chance to sit down with Dan Forrest, the Operations Director of the Good QSR Food Group, to talk about the rollout of their new brand, Birdies Chicken & Burger.
The Birdies Chicken & Burger brand will be launching as a combination of drive thru and in-line strip stores. Currently, two stores are operational in Ipswich and Redbank Plains, Queensland, and three more are set to open in northern Brisbane. Five more outlets are planned for roll-out during the remainder of the year.
QSR Media: Can you tell us more about Birdies Chicken and Burgers? What makes it unique in the chicken and burger scene?
Dan Forrest: The Birdies Brand is a fresh approach to fast food with a emphasis on "Real Food" by using sustainable and real food ingredients from reputable suppliers. Menu development will be focused on fresh and real family lunches and dinner alternatives, bringing the family together without compromising on wholesome and tasty food.
Time is an important factors in the life's of young families and we believe we can assist in bringing the family together in a sustainable and socially responsible way and are proud to be part of building stronger family's and communities.
QSR Media: Can you tell us about Birdies' menu? Will you be including vegetarian options, and such?
Dan Forrest: The Birdies Brand is a modern menu offering options for everybody, the family, teenagers, and our young adults. The future for Birdies menu will be exciting and fresh with food that will be wholesome, affordable, delicious, and most importantly Real.
Birdies are now operating in North Ipswitch and Redbank Plains and soon to come online in other Queensland locations.
QSR Media: How have your customers been reacting so far?
Dan Forrest: The response that the local community has had to the Birdies brand has been amazing with both venues seeing a great lift in sales and also the local engagement to the brand has been great. People love eating "real food".
QSR Media: Where can you see the brand five years from now?
Dan Forrest: Birdies will be a suburban brand and with a 5 year plan to double its network size every year with strategic sites in the local communities in and around Queensland, together with other brands in the Good QSR Food Groups portfolio will be tackling the metro and capital cities in Australia.
