AFGC appoints Terry O'Brien as Chairman
This follows the resignation of Mr John Doumani.
The Board of the Australian Food and Grocery Council has elected Mr Terry O’Brien as the new Chairman of the AFGC.
Mr O’Brien, Managing Director of Simplot Australia, said food and grocery manufacturers remain optimistic about their future in Australia despite challenging times being faced by the industry.
He noted, “Industry priorities include regulatory reform to reduce compliance costs; getting R&D tax incentives right along with other measures to boost innovation; and engaging with retailers to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the food and grocery supply chain.”
AFGC CEO Mr Gary Dawson said Mr O’Brien brought more than 25 years of industry experience to the role, including two stints on the AFGC Board.
