Find out all about Over The Moo, the vegan coconut milk ice cream

QSR Media got in touch with the people behind Over The Moo, which offers dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan coconut milk ice cream for QSRs.

Tell us about Over the Moo?

At Over The Moo we make coconut milk ice cream that’s dairy free, gluten free and massively vegan. Most importantly, it’s totally delicious. We’ve turned down the volume on the coconut to deliver a product that has all the yum of regular dairy ice cream. Over The Moo comes in nine blow-your-socks-off flavours so there’s something for everyone from ‘I fell for Caramel’ to ‘Pandan Pecan Party!’.

Tell us about the category and what sets you apart?

The milk alternatives category (soy and almond milks) grew by about 7% last year, Over The Moo wants to see this kind of growth in the dairy-free ice cream category.

Unfortunately the category doesn’t have a fantastic rep. There are plenty of options on the market that are flakey, dry and just don’t delivery in terms of creaminess or flavour. I started Over The Moo to deliver a product that is just as creamy and flavourful as the dairy stuff, that’s what sets us apart.

Why should a QSR or fast casual consider Over the Moo?

2017 is going to be the year of dairy free. Lactose intolerance is the most common food allergy in Australia and we’re already seeing big QSR’s like Crust adding dairy free and vegan options to their menu. Including a dairy free dessert on the menu is a great way both to attract dairy free customers to your business and offer existing customers something new and unique. We also offer a 5L product, perfect for food service.

Any other comments?

Over The Moo also makes a mean milkshake. Heck yeah!
