2020 National Retail Awards goes virtual
The National Retail Association (NRA) has partnered with Retail Global and Klarna to relaunch the 2020 National Retail Awards in a virtual format.
On Thursday, 15 October, the Awards will come to the screens of retailers across Australia, with presenters, winner announcements and talked from special keynote speakers including the Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, Senator the Hon. Michaelia Cash.
The 2020 Awards intends to recognise people and businesses at all levels of the industry – from fast food franchisees to fashion chains; from young retailers under 25 years to store managers and leaders within the industry.
“April saw the full might of lockdown restrictions hit the retail sector, with an unprecedented drop in turnover. The easing of restrictions in May was always going to see sales rebound, but it is still pleasing to see a sizeable increase. Throughout all of this, we saw retail staff face customer abuse at unprecedented levels," NRA CEO Dominique Lamb said.
“Retailers have struggled and pivoted throughout this time. Now we are celebrating them. We’re calling on Australian retailers to put their hands up, or to nominate their staff or colleagues who have gone above and beyond over the past year.”
