Grill’d opens 166th restaurant in Bondi Beach
The restaurant will have three local Bondi lifeguards make their own Grill’d burgers.
Grill’d has opened its 166th restaurant in Australia.
The new restaurant will be located at the iconic Bondi Beach which promises to deliver ‘bangin’ burgers and an awesome summer restaurant vibe.’
According to Grill’d founder Simon Crowe, expansion into Sydney’s eastern suburbs has always been on the cards with consumer demand being the main driver.
To celebrate the opening, three local Bondi lifeguards, Harrison Reid, Ryan ‘Whippet’ Clark and Dean Gladstone will build their favourite Grill’d burger to battle it out for donations to their nominated charities. Guests that visit the Bondi restaurant can vote via the Grill’d Local Matters jars, a national initiative that gives back to local communities. Visitors can also order the burgers built by them.
Harrison’s burger features Wagyu beef patty, crispy bacon, egg, aged cheddar, Spanish onion, lettuce, tomato sauce, and herbed mayo and his nominated charity is Live, Learn & Survive an organisation with a vision for every child and young adult, no matter their background or location, to have access to education on water safety, fire safety and first aid. Learn Survive has provided lessons to 26,000 children across 6 countries.
For Ryan, the perfect burger is made with beef, cheese, pickles, lettuce, and tomato with a special mix of mustard, mayo and BBQ sauce. His nominated charity is Ocean Heroes: a platform for people on the spectrum to build confidence and social connection through surfing. Your donation would help us continue to provide a fun, healthy and unique way for people on the spectrum to improve their self-esteem.
Deano’s burger of choice consists of double beef, bacon, cheese, lettuce, avocado and relish whilst his nominated charity is the Waves of Wellness Foundation: a mental health surf therapy charity, committed to changing lives by delivering for-purpose, innovative support programs for people experiencing mental health challenges.
Voting ends on 31 October, with a donation to the winner with the highest votes and respectively to the second and third.
“Whether you’ve completed the Bondi-Bronte headland walk, an outdoor gym workout or a post-ocean swim, our 40-plus healthy burger menu options will help satisfy any craving. Having the boys come onboard to build their own burgers, and raise awareness and funds for their chosen charities is 100% aligned to our focus of giving back to local communities,” Crowe said.
