Their ‘best achievement': TGI Fridays' Future Fridays concept

The Signature Hospitality has been launching the brand in shopping centres as it is said to be a new suburban hub.

On December 2018, the American casual dining chain TGI Fridays launched their new flagship store in Melbourne, at the Chadstone Shopping Centre, with a contemporary look that is to provide customers a modernised guest experience.

The new look, developed in partnership with renowned Spanish design firm,LIVIT, showcases a decorative lighting, a large marble island bar, steel gantry, chevron flooring, exposed brickwork, smoked mirrors and a mixture of plush dining booths, timber high bars, New York-inspired artwork, outdoor spaces and an open kitchen.

"It provides our guests with comfort and quality, whilst giving them an authentic bar and dining experience, the American way," Signature Hospitality Group CEO James Sinclair told QSR Media. "The new concept has been positively received so we will continue to roll out to our existing network."

This is said to be the fifth store that houses the Future Fridays concept as well as a refreshed menu following their launch in locations including Green Hills, Perth and Eastland.

Furthermore, these sites are located in shopping centres. Sinclair said that dining precincts within shopping centres are the new suburban hub within communities. It also features a refreshed menu developed by their global culinary team.

The menu brings in a resurgence of American BBQ flavours in Australian share-style dining and a range of beverage options including traditional cocktails and a customer-crafted gin and tonic.

The Future Fridays initiative has been going on since April 2018 and introducing it is said to be their best achievement during the year.

Although no time frame has been confirmed, Sinclair assured that the new look will continue to roll out in the new year. He added that they will continue to add more dishes to the menu as a new cocktail range and even seasonal menus.

“We have piloted our concept in other markets, crafted new products, refined the food, developed supply chain, elevated design, and now we’re ready,” Sinclair said. “I am proud of the quality of cuisine we are providing and am excited to continue introducing new products into the market that I believe will be well received.”

Last August 2017, TGI Fridays was acquired by Signature Hospitality Group after being under the Imperium Group for two decades. The agreement includes locations across Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia, but the group vows to further expand the brand in the country.
