New concept Hombre joins the Mexican Wave

The newest entrant to the Mexican fast casual scene.

"Hombre Mexican Street Food is a fast casual Mexican restaurant that is designed to offer customers, both young and old a full experience of authentic Baja and Tex Mex menu items in an exciting casual environment with a full tequila cocktail bar," Alistair Bye explained to QSR Media. "Hombre is a taste of Mexico the way we think Australians want it."

He added that everything about the Hombre Mexican Street Food brand is on trend – the look, the feel and the food.

"For the customer, as well as offering traditional and Tex Mex food options, there’s a kid’s menu, full tequila and cocktail bar and live music to support local artists. At a franchisee level, the innovations which set Hombre Mexican Street Food apart include systemised processes to reduce costs and a fully integrated Cloud-based model to improve efficiencies. Essentially, our franchise works because customers want what we’re offering and our business model is profitable."

According to Alistair, love of Mexican food inspired the brand however, a major driver was to offer Australia’s franchisee entrepreneurs a brand, a model, a culture and a vehicle where they can enjoy their work and achieve their personal and business goals.

The development of the brand took place for all of 2014. Hombre launched the first store in Quuensland in the first quarter of 2015 and second quarter this year has been focused on fine tuning and improvement across the business. The brand is looking into opening a second store sometime this year.

"Many aspects around food preparation and customer ordering have been improved to deliver faster and better results for our customers," he noted. "The process of self-reflection and a culture of constant improvement is how we roll at Hombre so those things will be ongoing as demonstrated by our new digital platforms launching soon."

The digital platforms he mentioned include the launch of online table bookings and online ordering this quarter.

WHAT'S NEXT?

"Beyond 2015 we envisage a steady growth strategy Australia wide which will see us with at least 10 stores open by the end of 2016," Alistair told QSR Media.

Adding, "Hombre Mexican Street Food’s aim is for measured growth and the prudent selection of franchise locations which are in the best interest of the franchisee and the franchisee network"

"We have some new stores opening in 2015 – the first will be in Mackay very soon."
