Domino's utilised crowd sourcing to come up with new pizza flavor
Launches all-day Aussie Breakfast Pizza.
When Domino's finalised the recipe for its newest bacon and egg pizza, they had one problem, the chain couldn't decide whether to go with a barbecue or a tomato sauce.
The chain then took it to their fans.
This year, Domino’s launched a new brand mantra under the banner of People Powered Pizza paving the way for all marketing activity for 2014.
“People powered pizza is all about our passion and hunger to be better – spending hours each week listening to the comments our customers make – including this very important one - the finishing touches on our new brekky pizza. It’s people powered pizza and it really is at the heart of everything we do,” Global Development Chef Stefaan Codron
For the Aussie Breakfast Pizza, he recounted, "we had a vote on Facebook and we let our fans decide. It was close but in the end BBQ sauce proved most popular as the final complement for the bacon and egg pizza.”
He added that the new pizza is all about giving customers more selection and more variety day and night.
“If our customers wake up feeling like Bacon and Eggs we want to be able to give them Bacon and Eggs.” he said. “If they come home late at night and feel like Bacon and Eggs we want to be able to deliver them Bacon and Eggs – that’s the beauty of the all-day Aussie brekky pizza.”
The new pizza features seasoned scrambled eggs, crispy rasher bacon and smoky BBQ sauce.
