Find out what Sumo Salad's new 'Sumo Bowls' is all about
6 flavours will be rolled out.
As winter will soon be gradually approaching, Sumo Salad has already started to prepare for its arrival by revamping their winter menu—comprised of their classic soups, risottos, pastas and hot dishes, with the introduction of their new product range, set to entice their customers to dine on warm nutritious meals during the season.
Based on QSR Media’s interview with Luke Baylis—Co-founder and Managing Director of Sumo Salad, the brand has worked closely with their resident chef, Pete Evans, and dietitian, Georgina Moore, to come up with a new product that would remain true to the brand’s commitment in promoting and offering healthier meal options to their customers. The new “Sumo Bowls” takes inspiration from the Korean bibimbap, offering a warm bowl of brown rice and red and white quinoa, finally topped off with fresh ingredients from the brand’s popular salads.
The new range will be offering six flavours, specifically, Pete Evan’s Teriyaki Salmon and Snow Pea, Pete Evan’s Thai Chicken, Mexican Beef, Super Greens, Firecracker Chicken, and Mediterranean Lamb and Haloumi.
Luke also shared that the product trials showed Pete Evan’s Thai Chicken and Salmon Teriyaki and Snow Pea would be the most popular flavours amongst all six. Although the Super Greens and Firecracker Chicken bowls are also gaining popularity because of its low kilojoule count.
“Sumo Bowls are a much better option for customers this winter than high carb and high GI comfort food. Customers can enjoy a Sumo Bowl for lunch to keep them feeling fuller for longer and avoid snacking and overeating, which tends to happen in the cooler months,” said Luke.
