McDonald's add steak to its menu
Offers 100% Australian beef.
McDonald's has announced the addition of steak to its Real Choices menu. Specifically, a 100% Australian rump steak, to be offered in the form of a Steak and Garlic Aioli McWrap, Steak and BBQ McWrap, Steak Salad with Thai-style Dressing, Steak and Egg Brekkie Wrap, and the $3 Mini Steak Taster Wrap.
Kicking off the announcement is a Macca's Lunchbox tour, featuring a pop-up restaurant that looks like a big lunchbox. The pop-up location will be offering the new steak range, giving Aussies a chance to to makeover their lunches.
The store will be in Victoria until tomorrow, and will be travelling around the nation which includes Melbourne, Gold Coast, Sydney, and Adelaide.
According to the chain, it has purchased 1.23 million kilograms of beef from Australian suppliers in the last 12 months.
Mark Lollback, Chief Marketing Office of McDonald's Australia said, "we are all about giving Aussies more choice and what better way than by introducing 100% Australian rump steak to our Real Choices menu. All of our restaurants use quality Australian beef and the introduction of the new steak offering further demonstrates our commitment to the Australian beef industry."
Kevin Southern, a farmer from Queensland adds, "I've been supplying beef to McDonald's for around 15 years and it's great to see Macca's putting Aussie rump steak on the menu for the first time, any increase in sales of beef is a great bonus to the industry."
