Grill'd introduces Low Carb Burgers
Reveals 'The Carbfusion Study.'
Grill'd has revealed that it will be offering Low Carb Burgers with the introduction of the Low Carb SuperBun.
Made from all natural ingredients, which includes free range whole eggs, almond meal, organic coconut cream, water, tapioca flour, raw honey, psyllium husk and salt, the bun contains no refined sugar or preservatives.
According to the group, with a wholesome nutritional profile, the Low Carb SuperBun makes all Grill’d burgers less than 10% carbs per 100g, claiming it is less carbs that one sushi roll.
Coinciding with this announcement, the group reveals the results of its conducted "The Carbfusion Study" with independent Nutritionist Steph Lowe.
The group asked 1,000 men and women across the nation to reveal their eating & dieting habits as well as their understanding of the carb content of common foods.
Key findings from this study include:
- One in three low carb dieters found it difficult to give up burgers
- Low carb, low fat and low sugar diets are the most popular
- One in two low carb dieters (55%) have felt guilty about what they’ve been eating
- 1 in 4 low carb dieters can’t explain what a carbohydrate is
- 4 in 5 wrongly believe a burger is higher in carbs than a chicken wrap, while 70% think the same when compared to a burrito or Pad Thai
Commenting on the research, Grill’d Founder, Simon Crowe, said: “It’s clear as a nation us Aussies take our health seriously. The fact that two thirds of us have tried a diet shows that, but we’re not sticking to them as often people find it too hard to find meal options that suit their diet.
“That’s one of the reasons we’re excited to today launch the world’s first range of restaurant Low Carb Burgers, containing less than 10% carbs per 100g. Featuring our revolutionary new Low Carb SuperBun made with all natural ingredients (free range whole eggs, almond meal, organic coconut cream & psyllium husk), it’s going to appeal to a wide range of health-conscious Aussies following low carb, grain free, gluten free and refined sugar free diets,” he added.
“We know that our customers already see us as the healthy burger expert by our high quality fresh ingredients and balanced nutritional content. The Low Carb SuperBun was developed to make our menu even healthier and to enable us to cater for people following a specific diet or lifestyle choice, giving them permission to shop the burger category in a premium, contemporary and healthy way."
