Burger Project, Darrell Lea team up for exclusive dessert range
The soft-serve Smash Ups are available at all nine Burger Project stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Rockpool Dining Group-owned Burger Project has teamed up with Australian confectionery maker Darrell Lea to bring a selection of exclusive desserts to its menu.
The new “Smash Ups” are house-churned soft serve smashed, mashed and spiked and with a range of treats, including Darrell Lea chocolate treats. The six new items include Liquorice & Chocolate, Coconut Caramel and Choc Orange.
Customers can indulge in $2 Smash Ups along with a burger, chips and drink combo pack for a limited time.
Darrell Lea chocolate, made from 100% sustainable cocoa, now forms the base of Burger Project’s chocolate soft serve.
“Our Smash Ups are a true blend of great flavours and philosophies that incorporate ethical and sustainable practices,” Rockpool Dining Group Culinary Director Neil Perry said. “They are terrific desserts that give Burger Project a true point of difference.”

The fast casual burger chain also added a southern-fried chicken burger to the menu following a recent trip to the United States.
“I wanted to shake up our chicken burger offering and add something simple without compromising flavour, and a southern-fried chicken burger like those found in the States ticked all those boxes,” Neil explained.
The new menu items are available at all nine Burger Project stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
