KFC Australia opens its kitchens to the public
The chain invites diners to its inaugural Open Kitchen Day.
KFC Australia is giving access to its 160 kitchens across the country for Open Kitchen Day.
Just by registering online, diners can see first hand how KFC cooks its chicken and meals through a free 30-minute tour hosted by KFC General Managers. Participants will also receive freshly cooked chicken for free at the end of the tour.
“We’re excited for Aussies to go behind the scenes and see first-hand how we prepare our famous Original Recipe chicken. Many people think that all our KFC cooks do is drop frozen chicken into a deep fryer – but there’s a lot more to it than that," said KFC Australia’s Chief Marketing Officer, Nikki Lawson.
“We take a lot of pride in our unique cooking process, hand-coating our fresh chicken with flour and The Colonel’s 11 secret herbs and spices throughout the day to deliver the iconic taste people know and love."
“While KFC is perceived as a fast food company, we don’t take short cuts on freshness when it comes to our food,” said Fritz Meyer, KFC’s Chief Food Innovation and Technology Officer.
“At least 97% of our bone-in chicken, chicken fillets and strips are delivered fresh to store, not frozen, and all are sourced locally from reputable Australian suppliers like Inghams, Steggles and Golden Farms – the same ones you find in the supermarket every day.
