Wendy's wins big at Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards

Gold medals were awarded to Wendy’s Wicked Chocolate and Vanilla Bean flavours.

Wendy’s has scooped a fourth round of accolades for two of its popular ice cream flavours – this time at the 2011 Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards.

The awards follow recent wins at this year’s Dairy Industry Association of Australia Awards, Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show and the 2011 Sydney Royal Cheese and Dairy Produce Show.

“The Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards aim to showcase Australia’s finest food, so it’s terrific news that Wendy’s has picked up awards in the dairy category,” said Wendy’s CEO Rob McKay.

“To receive accolades at four prestigious shows this year is testament to the quality of the product we’re producing and affirms that we’re not the only ones who think it tastes great.

“Our Wicked Chocolate, with its indulgent chocolate ice cream and decadent chocolate fudge ripples and Vanilla Bean, with its smooth creamy texture and rich vanilla taste, are two of our flagship flavours – and these two gold medals prove just why they are so popular.”
