Grill'd gives away 27,000 burgers

For 10 days, people who were entitled to join the Grill'd Guild were able to enjoy a free burger each day.

More than 27,000 burgers were given away to gentlemen and gentle ladies who raised more than $40 for Movember.

Grill'd said that it has been five years in a row since they started providing free burgers to those who raised $40 for Movember. This took place between 9-18 of November and more than 27,000 burgers were given away.

Grill’d founder and managing director Simon Crowe says, “Our aim was to support our mates at Movember and reward the stars of the show – the Mo Bros and Sistas who do their part and raise much needed funds for men’s health issues. I am thrilled to announce Grill’d donated more than 27,000 free burgers this year and thanks has to go to our restaurants and staff who helped us in tackling men’s health issues in our own unique way.”

Movember founder Travis Garone said “Grill’d have yet again provided the sustenance for Mo Bros and Sistas to get through a busy Movember month of fundraising. There’s no doubt that a significant number of Movember citizens aspire to the $40 fundraising amount to grab themselves a free Grill’d burger or ten, so a big thanks goes to Grill’d for providing a very special reward for their fundraising efforts.”

Members of the Grill’d Guild, the not so Secret Society of Moustachio’d Gentlemen, were welcomed into Grill’d restaurants to enjoy a burger and the company of others who were donating their face to Movember.

To bring the Guild to life Grill’d restaurants were adorned with posters, banners, red carpets and Movember music. Best Mo competitions were held to reward Guild members sporting inventive upper lip artwork. Grill’d social media channels including the website (www.grilld.com.au), blog, Facebook (www.facebook.com/GrilldBurgers) and Twitter (@grilld) pages provided a forum for Guild members to share their Grill’d Movember experiences.

Each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Australia and around the world. It’s a fun way to drive awareness of and raise funds for serious men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and depression, with proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue: the national depression initiative.
