We spoke to Rose, to find out more about the bar, the challenges they encountered, and their expectations.

QSR: What's the biggest challenge of a mobile pizza bar?

Rose: The biggest challenge in putting together the Mobile Pizza Bar was the design process. We had to create a fully mobile yet fully operational Crust store.

QSR: Are there differences between the mobile bar from your brick and mortar restaurants?

Rose: There is a limited menu available from the Mobile Pizza Bar because it is intended to give people a taste of Crust so they can then head in store for the full Crust dining experience. We feel that large scale events are a great way to give people a bonus experience that compliments their time at the event, providing the perfect opportunity for them to fall in love with our pizzas then seek out their own local Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar. We are looking at this as an opportunity to have large groups of people get to know our brand and taste our pizza, building loyalty and creating relationships with customers who will visit their local Crust outlet on an ongoing basis.

QSR: If so, would you say the dining experience is still authentically Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar?

Rose: The Mobile Pizza Bar is authentically Crust because we are still using our premium ingredients, unique flavour combinations and hand crafting each delicious pizza for our customers. The Mobile Pizza Bar has been designed with the same look and feel as our stores, and the upper dining level is all about making life that little bit more special with Crust.

QSR: How many customers do you expect to serve this year at the mobile bar?

Rose: This will of course depend on the number of events the Mobile Pizza Bar attends, but we are hoping to reach over 1 million people from the Mobile Pizza Bar this year.

QSR: Are there plans to build more than one Crust Mobile Pizza Bar?

Rose: At this stage our Crust Mobile Pizza Bar will be a one off and will travel the country for a full roster of national and local events

QSR: Can you name a few events you will be attending this year?

Rose: The Crust Mobile Pizza Bar is set to travel hundreds of kilometres throughout the next year with a roster of national and local events quickly filling up. The next event for the Crust Mobile Pizza Bar will be the BMW Sydney Carnival in April, and we are looking into other sporting events similar to the Formula One.
