Macca’s movie collaboration brings back banana-flavoured desserts
A new McFlurry is also joining the movie-themed menu.
McDonald’s Australia and Illumination are partnering to transform Macca’s restaurants across Australia in celebration of Despicable Me 4, arriving in cinemas on 20 June.
From Wednesday 12 June for a limited time only, Macca’s will be releasing several movie themed menu items.
The menu features three banana-flavoured desserts, new toys, and bespoke themed packaging. The Banana Thickshake and the Banana Caramel Pie. The Banana Caramel Pie will also have a McFlurry varient made with crisp pastry pieces filled with banana custard and caramel sauce on Vanilla or Chocolate Soft Serve, topped with an extra drizzle of caramel sauce.
For the kids, the Minions will take over Macca’s Happy Meal for a limited time.
“We’re so excited to collaborate with Illumination’s Despicable Me franchise for what is certain to be one of the biggest blockbuster movies of the year. Since they first appeared in 2010’s Despicable Me, the Minions have become global icons, infiltrating pop culture in a meaningful way,” Nichole Tsiros, Senior Brand Manager for McDonald’s Australia.
