SumoSalad's Green Label wins Australian Innovation Award
SumoSalad’s Green Label store concept received an Australian Innovation Award as part of the Ebeltoft Retail Innovation Awards 2016.
For more than a decade Ebeltoft Group has been providing global insight into the key innovations and strategies that are driving the retail market here in Australia and internationally. The latest trends and concepts shaping the retail sector are published in the company’s annual report ‘Retail Innovations’, which is circulated around the world.
Every year hundreds of retailers are nominated by consultancy businesses in more than 25 mature and emerging retail markets across the globe, which then go through a scrutinising judging process before the finalists make the publication.
“SumoSalad is delighted to make the cut for Retail Innovation 11 and to be announced as one of two winners of the Australian Innovation Award for our healthy, eco-friendly and sustainable ethos. It’s such a huge achievement and really cements what Sumo stands for,” said Luke Baylis, CEO and Co-Founder of SumoSalad.
“Our Green Label concept really has shaken up the food court. Born from the manifesto, Food with Purpose, the store takes a holistic approach to healthy food and how it is sourced, produced and sold in store. Green Label is proving to be the next generation of SumoSalad."
“According to Ebeltoft Group’s experts, it is Sumo’s holistic approach and physical in-store experience that makes us so innovative. From the supply chain to the store, they recognised that Sumo delivers a customer-rich, innovative experience and in regards to the concept of fresh, self-selected meals, they acknowledged that SumoSalad has emerged as an Australian innovator in this space,” said Baylis.
