Ferguson Plarre Bakehouses wins award at 2015 Victorian Baking Show
Awarded Victoria’s Best Sausage Roll and wins best decorated Novelty Cake (Themed) second year in a row.
Ferguson Plarre COO and Head of baking, Michael Plarre, said “We have been making our traditional Sausage Rolls to the same quality recipe for over 30 years, we firmly believe that if it’s not broke, don’t break it. Our sausage rolls were perfect then and are still perfect now and this award is testament to that.
Every product we make is tested first at our own dining room tables and if they don’t pass our dining room test they simply don’t hit the market. We wouldn’t dream of sharing anything with Victorian families that we wouldn’t share with our own – that’s the Ferguson Plarre quality that our customers know and love.”
As for the cake, Ferguson Plarre Head decorator, Maria Cerra interprets the ‘Fruit Belt Region’ theme into a creative, culinary masterpiece.
“I spent over 45 hours hand crafting the variety of fruits represented on the cake, I wanted them each be unique and so life like they could easily be mistaken for the real thing. Judging by the response I have gotten I feel I got pretty close to achieving this”, said Cerra.
