The Coffee Club bags international Food and Beverage Award
The Coffee Club’s Brisbane domestic airport container stores took out the Outstanding Originality in Airport Food and Beverage category at the international Airport Food and Beverage (FAB) Awards held recently in Geneva, sharing first place with TRG Concessions from London Gatwick Airport.
The stores were also finalists in the Best Coffee Shop category.
Held annually, the Awards celebrate the best and most innovative projects in travel-related food and beverage and attract entries from fast food franchisors and independent outlets across the globe.
“With a large, captive audience, airports offer a unique marketing opportunity,” said Greg Bowell, The Coffee Club’s General Manager - Marketing.
“Having such an innovative store solution on show has been a major step forward for our brand. We are proud of how we have adapted our dine-in offer to more of a grab-and-go solution that is perfect for travellers. Being able to take away an excellent coffee and food from one of our container stores has given the brand huge visibility in the marketplace,” he said.
Travellers visiting one of three Coffee Club shipping container stores can sit down and have a chat in-store over a cup of coffee, or grab a sandwich or roll and take it with them.
“Our innovative concept container stores are unlike anything currently offered in the market. Set inside two 20 foot recycled shipping containers, our alfresco stores offer a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a sustainable green rooves that integrate vegetation on top of an industrial build,” said George Drivas, multi-site franchisee and owner of the Brisbane airport shipping container stores.
The container stores are located on Brisbane Airport’s Domestic Terminal forecourt. The Coffee Club also has airport stores at the International Terminal and Skygate, with another store at the Brisbane Service Centre.
