Dessert chain Cowch announces closure

Over the past four months, Cowch has been in voluntary administration.

The Queensland-based dessert chain Cowch will now close its doors, according to an announcement by co-founder Arif Memis.

On 14 March 2023, the Cowch Group of entities were placed into Voluntary Administration with SV Partners Administrators Terry van der Velde and Terry Rose leading the appointment.

Dear valued Cowch community,
 
It is with a heavy heart and a mix of emotions that we write this letter to inform you of the closure and liquidation of our beloved business, Cowch. As founders, owners, and husband and wife team, we have poured our hearts and souls into building Cowch from the ground up, and it pains us deeply to reach this difficult decision.
 
Over the past four months, Cowch has been in voluntary administration as we desperately sought out an investor who could provide the support needed to keep our dreams alive. We explored every avenue, leaving no stone unturned, in the hopes of finding a lifeline that would allow Cowch to continue serving our delightful dessert cocktails and mouthwatering desserts. Regrettably, despite our unwavering dedication and tireless efforts, we have been unable to secure the necessary investment.
 
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has been part of our journey. Our incredible team members, who have become like family, have worked tirelessly to create an atmosphere that was warm, inviting, and filled with laughter. Our loyal customers, whom we consider our extended family, have shown us unwavering support, returning time and time again to indulge in our delectable treats and enjoy the Cowch experience.
 
To the talented chefs and creative minds who brought our dessert visions to life in our production facility, we are forever grateful for your dedication and passion. Your culinary skills and innovative flair have been the backbone of Cowch, and we are proud of the sweet creations that have brought joy to so many.
 
Cowch has been a labor of love, a dream that we nurtured and watched flourish over the years. We are immensely proud of what we have achieved and the mark we have made on the dessert and cocktail scene. We have seen friendships blossom, couples create lasting memories, and celebrations that have filled our venues with joy and laughter.
 
As we embark on this difficult journey of closure and liquidation, we ask for your understanding and support. We are working closely with the administrators to ensure that all matters are handled with the utmost care and transparency. Our aim is to minimize the impact on our dedicated staff members, loyal suppliers, and cherished customers as we navigate these uncharted waters.
 
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of the Cowch family. Your support, patronage, and love have meant the world to us. It is through your unwavering encouragement that we have been able to create something truly special.
