Promotion of the Month: Gloria Jean's Call to Australia's booming cafe society to have a Cappuccino for a Cause!
During the month of October Gloria Jean's coffees are fundraising for Variety, the children's charity. It culminates in a family weekend. QSR Media finds out more.
QSR Media: The lead up to the weekend family event on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th October, how will you be promoting this to the public?
Gloria Jean’s coffee houses around the country have been decorated with red balloons, bunting and thank you hearts to bring Cappuccino for a Cause to life, and raise funds for Variety – the Children’s Charity. Each coffee house will be hosting their own children’s activities, special offers and events. Cappuccino for a Cause will also be promoted through Facebook and Twitter, as well as the Gloria Jean’s Coffees website.
QSR Media: The $170,000 target, is this earmarked for anything in particular?
We are looking to fund two Sunshine Coaches and five individual appeals through Variety’s Freedom Program. These appeals will fund items such as wheelchairs, theratogs, oxygen tanks, alopecia wigs, modified tricycles, vehicle mods for wheelchairs and standers. Last year we reached our target of raising $150,000 for Variety - the Children’s Charity, and wanted to exceed last year’s fundraising total.
QSR Media: The Gloria Jeans With Heart Foundation, tell us a bit more about this?
With Heart, a Gloria Jean’s Coffees International Foundation (With Heart), was established in 2009 by the founders of Gloria Jean’s Coffees as part of the company’s commitment to global and local humanitarian projects. Through the support of Gloria Jean’s Coffees’ guests, team members and Franchise Partners, With Heart has raised funds for their charity partners, including Special Olympics Australia, Variety – the Children’s Charity and R U OK? Day. Cappuccino for a Cause is one of the key fundraising initiative operated by With Heart and has been running for six years. During that time Cappuccino for a Cause has raised almost half a million dollars for a number of different charities including Opportunity International and Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia.
