Grill’d Doncaster supports local community groups

Customers get a token for every purchase of burger which they can use to put towards one of the three nominated men’s health groups.

Customers at Grill’d Doncaster are being given a tough choice this month as restaurant manager Aaron Grayson will be inviting customers to participate in the Local Matters program – an exciting initiative supporting local community groups.

“We have nominated three men’s health groups as part of our Local Matters program in November - Beyondblue, The Movember Foundation and Prostate Cancer Australia - all in support of Movember,” Aaron said.

“Movember is a campaign many in the community are passionate about and we thought this would be a great way to support this great cause and get the local community involved in the Local Matters initiative in Doncaster.

“How it works is simple, everyone who purchases a burger receives a token to put towards one of the three nominated groups per restaurant.

“The three jars, representing each group, will be publicly displayed on a trolley in our restaurant and at the end of the month the community group with the most tokens receives a donation of $300 and the other two groups receive $100 each.”

The applications for next month’s three local community groups are now open and Aaron urges groups to get on board.

“We’re urging all worthy local groups to get involved and apply by visiting grilld.com.au/localmatters and putting your best 45 words forward,” Aaron said.

Grill’d Founder, Simon Crowe, said Grill’d was looking forward to further shining a light on men’s health focused groups.

“This community donation program means that every month, restaurants can give back to the smaller, local groups that can sometimes be forgotten,” Simon said.

“We think it’s really important to also find and support the unsung heroes which are quite often the lifeblood of the local community.

“It’s exciting to think we could support and work with groups people never knew existed.”
