Burrito Bar to open branch in Broadbeach

The new restaurant will be open on 12 December 2011.

According to a release, the funky and vibrant Burrito Bar brand will soon inject a fresh kind of Southern Californian cool into the streets of the Gold Coast, with a new restaurant set to open in Broadbeach on the 12th of December.

The Burrito Bar’s “Street Mex” style Mexican menu hails from southern California where flavours are driven by salsa and freshness.

Currently undergoing an original street art inspired fit out the new venue is destined to impress young and old Mexican lovers looking for an extra piece of personality in their Pico de Gallo.

Owner of the Broadbeach venue, Kim Toovey, said The Burrito Bar offering would be a great fit with Gold Coast consumers.

“There is an abundance of authentic global cuisine on the Gold Coast however this is a unique offering to other Mexican restaurants currently out there,” he said.

Located in the ‘The Wave’, 89-91 Surf Parade, Broadbeach, the restaurant will be the first to be opened on the Gold Coast following off the success of two Brisbane venues, in Rosalie and Southbank, which already boast a loyal client following.

Toovey said a key feature of the venue’s design was the incorporation of a funky outdoor area that would bring a coastal element during the day.

“My vision is to create a relaxed retreat for beach goers during the day and a funky venue for diners and party goers at night.

“Of course it’s important to mention that the restaurant is licensed with a fully stocked bar,” he said.

Some other highlights of The Burrito Bar menu include the fresh tortilla bowl filled with a taco salad as well as the unique chocolate nachos consisting of sweet chocolate tortilla chips and vanilla ice-cream smothered in chocolate sauce.
