Chart of the Week: Find out what groups are the heaviest quick service restaurant customers
Regardless of what you do for a crust, the large majority of Australians will grab a bite to eat out of home at least once a month, and in most instances this will be in a Quick Service Restaurant.
In a chart provided by IPSOS MediaCT shows that while Managers and Professionals have the biggest appetite for out of home dining, with 87% eating out at least once a month, they are less likely to choose Quick Service Restaurants compared to Students, Technicians and Labourers.
Students may eat out of home slightly less than Managers and Professionals, but they are the heaviest QSR customers, with more than half of them (57%) saying they would eat there in any given month.
Following closely behind, sales workers/labourers and technicians are next largest groups of QSR customers.
As the biggest driver of choice for eating at a QSR is normally convenience, it’s not surprising then that people spending more time on home duties or retirees are the group least likely to be eating out of home, either at a QSR or any other venue.
