Shingle Inn names new operations manager
The café chain appointed Michael Walker as its new Operations Manager ahead of its 80th Anniversary this year.
Walker will be primarily focusing on key issues such as franchise profitability and brand compliance, which in turn will benefit the customers of each café around Australia.
“I was particularly attracted to the Shingle Inn brand, which is so rich in history and has such a unique business model within the café/hospitality industry. I particularly love the uniqueness and the old style ‘Aussie’ feel of the stores,” he said.
“The greatest asset of Shingle Inn is absolutely the people (the customers, store teams and support office team). I can see now that I simply need to tap into the history and experience across the brand to find solutions and inspiration.”
Walker was previously the National Operations Manager for café retailer Mrs Fields Bakery and Cafe, where was responsible for the planning, implementation and roll out of the new Mrs Fields Bakery café concept, where he achieved double digit sales growth for existing stores. He aims to bring his extensive industry experience and skills to Shingle Inn, where he will be putting in place processes and tools to better support the franchise’s stores which in turn will provide excellent customer service.
