Retail Food Group shakes up operations staff jobs as part of restructure
The company announced the launch of a new sales and performance division, rolling out a massive restructure that will affect its operations staff jobs.
The new team is the latest of the company’s resource prioritization initiatives to be implemented, focused on the deployment of sales driving initiatives at a store level whilst mentoring franchisees.
Sixty-eight of the company's operations staff will be made redundant as part of the restructure, with affected staff being given the option to apply for one of the new sales and performance positions or apply for a newly created franchise care centre position.
RFG CEO Franchise and Managing Director elect Andre Nell said that the move was in response to the evolving retail landscape, and will see RFG redeploying resources from an operations focus to a sales and business mentorship focus.
“The retail environment has significantly changed in recent years, as have the needs of our franchisees in terms of what is going to have the biggest impact on improving their bottom line,” said Nell.
“Our franchisees are seeking high level, specialist sales and performance advice from their franchisor to secure growth in a highly competitive sector and maximize their investment in our Brand Systems. Simply stated, our franchise partners now require a totally different service platform.”
Nell said RFG is engaging with all team members impacted by the restructure on redeployment into new roles within the new division or in other areas of the business, or alternatively, the provision of a redundancy package for those not wishing to transition.
“While the decision to implement this transition has been a difficult one, we simply must do what we believe is best for our franchise partners, and this means decisive action,” Nell said.
“The new division will ultimately result in a larger investment by RFG in its franchisee support structures, bringing new expertise to our network to create a dynamic service and sales driven culture.”
