Gelatissimo appoints four new executives as its hastens global expansion plan
Expansion has been a priority for the chain this year.
Gelatissimo has expanded its slate of executives as it ramps up its domestic and international presence.
Anthony Shina, now the gelato chain’s general manager for its Australian operations, held property-related roles in Craveable Brands, ANZ Banking Group and Westpac Group.
Leading the chain’s international business is Wendy McManus, who worked for T2 Tea and Zambrero in retail and operations roles.
John Mellas, touted for his 27 years worth of experience in the QSR sector, was named the chain’s national retail operations manager whilst franchising and leasing specialist Ethan Flowers has been appointed as their property and franchise development head.
“We will celebrate 20 years of successful growth in 2022 and feel the time is now right to really ramp up our international presence and continue our Australian expansion. Our growing team of highly experienced and skilled senior leadership members will allow us to achieve this,” Gelatissimo CEO Filipe Barbosa said in a statement.
Expansion has been a priority for the chain this year, with Barbosa previously revealing to QSR Media that they are eyeing sites in QLD and NSW. Internationally, they eye around 10 stores before end-2022.

Gelatissimo currently has 41 stores throughout Australia and has 25 locations overseas, including Singapore and China.
