Domino’s creates 3,000 new jobs
The brand wants 3,000 more workers in Australia and New Zealand to keep up with increased deliveries from its new GPS Driver Tracker technology.
Domino’s Group CEO and Managing Director Don Meij said, ”We have seen an incredible response to the GPS Driver Tracker in the test markets, with it not only improving efficiency at a store level but our customers love engaging with the technology and our drivers!”
“Changing the relationship between driver and customer, we have made the tracker technology dynamic and engaging meaning that customers can get to know their driver; what music they like listening, their favourite pizza and even their favourite sport.”
“Our customers are really enjoying interacting with the drivers and the technology, watching the exact route their driver takes from the store to their door.”
Due to the popularity of the technology, Domino’s is gearing up for what Meij describes is the biggest intake of new employees in the company’s history.
“We are looking to hire approximately 3,000 new Domino’s employees (or as we like to call them Dominoids) to join the Domino’s family and significantly invest in the delivery side of our business – after all we are the delivery experts!”
“It’s an exciting time to be part of the Domino’s journey and we need to hire, invest in training and up skilling to work with employees to ensure GPS Driver Tracker continues to be hugely popular with our customers.”
The company is also looking for those who are willing to cycle pizza deliveries on pushbikes.
“We are investing in delivery but this doesn’t just mean cars! A lot of our newer stores are opening with 100% of deliveries on pushbikes which means we are also on the lookout for people who are active and can pedal pizzas to customers on pushbikes.”
“As well as contributing positively to the environment with a reduction in noise and air pollution, our pushbikes offer employees the chance to get healthy and active when delivering pizzas. They are also tracked via the GPS Driver Tracker technology.”
