Melbourne-based QSR chain Burger Road gearing up for interstate growth
It has its sights set on SA, Sydney and the Sunshine Coast.
Melbourne-based QSR chain Burger Road is gearing up for expansion in 2023, revealing that it has its sights set on South Australia, Sydney and the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
The brand, which has three corporate stores and four franchisee-owned stores, has four more Victorian stores — Mernda, Watsonia, Ashburton and Altonta — slated to open before the end of 2022.
Burger Road was founded in 2017 in Fairfield by husband and wife duo Anna Dewan and Ishu Wadhawan, offering a menu of “fresh and fun” burgers as well as snacking and feasting options that cater to all age groups and dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian menu options.
“We know our audience both in terms of geographical locations and also our digital communities. When scouting new store locations we apply a strict list of criteria to ensure we’re entering a market that’s foundations ensure a successful business. This includes taking a look at the demographic and ensuring it’s a younger skew, ensuring ample parking, highway exposure or train station access. All of these factors come into play when securing the right spot that we’re confident will perform well,” Dewan said.
The company said it ensures all staff undergo a thorough four to six-week training programme.
“The QSR space is great entry-level employment for young people. We’re so proud of our staff and want to ensure that we can offer them the very best training, so they’re equipped with all the tools they need to successfully operate their own Burger Road stores. It’s paramount to us that all franchisees undergo strict training under our guidance to prepare them to lead their own teams,” Wadhawan noted.
Burger Road’s other locations at the moment are located in Plenty, Hawthorn, Burnside, Werribee, Highett and Craigieburn.
