Fast-casual dining Schnitz eyes 150 restaurants by 2028
The brand said it aims to tap into the snacking market.
Fast-casual dining restaurant Schnitz is planning to double its restaurants to 150 in the next five years.
The plan comes as Schnitz aims to introduce a new cult favourite, the ‘Schnugget’ as it expands its snacking menu amidst significant growth across the nation.
According to the brand, The ‘Schnugget’, Schnitz’ take on the chicken nugget, forms part of a wider growth strategy that looks to tap into the ever-growing snacking industry which, in 2023 has a global revenue amounting to revenue US$3.33b, according to a survey by Statista.
This expansion is largely within High St and shopping precincts, leveraging the return of in-store dining and the growing popularity of fast-casual dining whilst ensuring accessibility to its valued customers.
“Our growth is down to several factors but most notably our customer-focused approach to expanding our menu which has enabled us to thrive in what is a challenging retail environment. Launching the Schnugget represents Schnitz’s commitment to expanding our menu, and our dedication to providing delicious, fresh, quality products,” Brenton Howie, CEO of Schnitz, said.
Schnitz has grown from 30 stores to 73 stores in the past seven years, with 53 stores in Victoria alone.
