Rashay's jumpstarts franchising with a bang

They’re on the look out for new locations in the city.

Since it first opened its doors in Liverpool fifteen years ago, Rashay’s Pizza Pasta and Grill has continued to grow and develop their brand through the years.

This year, the brand signed their first three franchisees, adding three new stores in their portfolio.

QSR Media spoke with Rashay's to get to know the brand and learn more about their upcoming plans for development.

QSR Media: Tell us about Rashay’s and how it started.

Rashay's: Rashay’s was established in September of 1998 and we are due to celebrate our 15th anniversary of trade this year.

Rashay’s was the local secret and jewel of Liverpool and was located in the hot spot of Liverpool outside Westfields where most of the locals would meet to catch up for a great meal or coffee.

Rashay’s also had another restaurant nearby which traded as Euro Restaurant however due to the success of the Rashay’s brand, was later renamed Rashay’s.

It started with a dream of a young couple who had a passion for hospitality. They met at Pizza Hut where they worked for the good part of their youth.

Subsequently, they decided to open up their own restaurant with the skills they had acquired from the popular pizza brand, naming the Restaurant with their initials of both their names, “RA”mi & “SHA”nnon and the initial of their last names Y & S.


QSR Media: What kinds of product do your brand offer and what makes them stand out?

Rashay's: The brand offers a diverse menu of Pizzas, pastas, steaks, chicken & desserts.

What makes us stand out from the rest are our strict guidelines to consistency and ensuring the food and service we provide to our customers is consistently of high quality.

QSR Media: Who are your typical customers?

Rashay's: Our typical customers were once the young demographic who wanted to meet for coffee and dessert and be seen in the hot spot of Liverpool and socialise in a relaxed environment.

Whilst we still appeal to that demographic, we have evolved over the years to become a very popular family restaurant. This is due to the nature of our business and being a casual and relaxed environment with a great variety and focus on children.

QSR Media: How has the brand’s growth and development been so far?

Rashay's: The brand’s growth has been excellent in the last 3 years. Rashay’s has grown from 2 restaurants to 5 restaurants in the last 3 years.

In addition, we have just signed our first 3 franchisees and will open 3 further sites in 2013.

QSR Media: How can you differentiate yourself in the market?

Rashay's: We are a great family restaurant with amazing value with product quality to match.

QSR Media: Where do you see growth?

Rashay's: We are predominately located in the south western suburbs of Sydney but see a lot of potential towards the city.

QSR Media: What changes and innovations are the brand preparing for?

Rashay's: We are preparing for the first 3 franchisees to open up a Rashay’s restaurant. The first 5 Restaurants are privately owned so it is certainly a huge milestone for the company.

With the growth, we also see a lot of opportunity for Marketing to the whole of Sydney and getting the brand out even further.
