Muzz Buzz kicks off Asian expansion in Japan and China
Muzz Buzz has kicked off its expansion in Asia.
The chain recently signed an exclusive joint venture agreement to create Muzz Buzz Japan Ltd (Muzz Buzz Japan) and a joint venture agreement in Hong Kong with Trans Holding Australia Pty Ltd which will establish and operate Muzz Buzz drive-thru stores throughout Japan and China.
Muzz Buzz Japan was launched this week while the principal of Trans Holding Australia Mr. Jimmy Wong, is expected to open the first two stores in the Chinese cities of Shenzhen and Guangzhou within the next six months.
Japan and China represents the first phase of the chain's expansion into Asian markets. Muzz Buzz revealed it intends to identify further growth opportunities, particularly in South East Asia in the next 12 months.
"This represents just the beginning of what we anticipate will be a massive expansion of the Muzz Buzz brand in Asia over the next 5 years," said Pynt. Emphasising that Asia is the fastest growing coffee consuming region in the world, further noting that the Muzz Buzz's service model is very suited to the Asian market.
"Asian consumers place a high value on the quality and safety of food and beverage products from Australia," he said.
GATEWAY TO ASIA
Japan and China are apparently ripe for the picking, said Pynt.
"Both Japan and China are markets that place a high value on the quality and integrity of Australian food and beverage products and consumers in those markets are attracted to commercial brands that deliver fun and entertainment, not just products and services," he explained.
These consumers, he added, are eager for new retail concepts that offer convenience and lifestyle experiences that are both engaging and rewarding. And since China and Japan are in Australia's neighbourhood geographically and on similar time zones, logistics wise, it makes it easier for Muzz Buzz to provide support to those markets in particular.
The chain aims to have two or three Muzz Buzz stores operating in Japan and five or six stores in China by the end of this year. In five years’ time, Muzz Buzz expects to have hundreds of Muzz Buzz stores in both countries.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
Meanwhile, Australia remains to be the home market of Muzz Buzz, according to Pynt.
The drive-thru coffee chain will continue to grow the brand and expand the business in the Australian market, planning to add 10 to 12 stores in the next 12 months to add to the existing 60 Muzz Buzz stores in the country.
