Learn more about Piccolo Me, a new contender in the café scene

QSR Media sits down with Charlie Hachem, cofounder of Piccolo Me, to talk about the unconventional direction they are taking the new café brand.

QSR Media: How would you describe the brand Piccolo Me?

Charlie Hachem: Piccolo Me is a young and innovative coffee company that appeals to the wider community. Co-founders Charlie and Roy El-Hachem ensure Piccolo Me continues to push boundaries and provide an experience for consumers that involves more than just the average café experience.

QSR Media: What makes it different?

Hachem: Piccolo Me has a marketing strategy that is like none other. Two words to describe our marketing approach would be humourous and unconventional. Due to Piccolo Me’s unconventional marketing scheme, we attract a certain niche market of consumers. We want our consumers to visit our stores and know that their coffee will taste great and they will have fun consuming it, alongside all of our other unique products. Our outstanding customer service linked with our distinct products are the main driving forces that help to satisfy our customers. Our products vary from hot and cold beverages, a scrumptious breakfast and lunch range, and mouthwatering desserts.

QSR Media: How has it changed over time?

Hachem: Although Piccolo Me is a relatively new business, it has changed many times since it has been established. We change many of our products and approaches often due to the feedback we receive from consumers. These changes range from alterations to our food and dessert menus to our posters and marketing concepts. We have kept most of our original designs and ideas from when we first started, as we like to compare them to our current designs and ideas. This reminds us of how Piccolo Me has altered profusely over time. Moreover, we consider this transformation as positive development. We understand that change is inevitable and we have discovered that we strive during periods of change, as it forces us to grow and to push the boundaries.

QSR Media: What are your customers asking for?

Hachem: Our customers are always waiting for the next craze. As the café industry is endlessly growing, we believe there is a requirement for consistent change in order to achieve and maintain a competitive advantage against our competitors. At Piccolo Me, we always strive to create products that are different from our competitors, which enables our consumers to visit our stores as our creations are exclusive and cannot be purchased elsewhere.

Feedback from social media indicates customers are continuously asking for their area to be Piccolo’d when we post new photos of our creations. We have had many comments asking us to bring Piccolo Me interstate, particularly to Melbourne, Brisbane and Queensland.

QSR Media: What’s new at Piccolo Me?

Hachem: We have recently opened our 10th store at WSU Kingswood Campus. Also, Piccolo Me is now on the franchise market! We have officially signed our first franchisee who has recently taken over our location at Crowsnest.

We are encouraging people to contact us if they believe they would like to help Piccolo Me! We have been receiving many requests from various young and talented people and businesses in regards to collaborations. This is definitely something we are interested in as we encourage working with creative entrepreneurs who share our vision. We are always learning and we love to be inspired by the talent of others.
