Xpresso Mobile Café gears up for new challenges
The brand is strategizing to counter the adversities it is facing in its growth, and plans for more franchisees by 2016.
Jonathan Payne, co-owner and Managing Director of Xpresso Mobile Café, told QSR Media, “We are partnering with Ben & Jerry's ice cream to offer our franchisees the opportunity to offering premium snack size ice cream products to their customers.”
“Xpresso Mobile Café's biggest adversity is a coffee machine inside a business - to counteract this, franchisees now stock Di Bella Coffee capsules which are a premium alternative product that are compatible with the 'Nespresso Coffee Machine’.”
Towards the coming end of the year and for the whole of 2016, the brand will readying for a major push in its franchises, with the end goal of nearly doubling its current franchisee count.
“Our goal was to launch a further 10 new franchisees with a total of 20 however we are well on our way to 24. Our target for end of 2016 (cal year) is 40,” Payne said.
“We have already invested heavily in new support staff to assist in supporting existing franchisees and future growth.”
Just last year, ten franchisees were successfully launched. Only recently, the brand has opened into the Melbourne market, its very first in the area, with plans to launch five more by 2016.
But the brand’s expansion does not come without its share of growing pains. When asked about current challenges Xpresso Mobile is facing now, mounting upkeep costs were in the forefront.
“Upward pressure on equipment costs continue to challenge our ability to remain the best value mobile café franchise system in Australia. For now, we can absorb this,” Payne said.
